AN EXPERIMENTAL STUDY ON THE DAMAGING EFFECTS UPON THE PULP BY DEHYDRATION OF THE EXPOSED DENTIN

Abstract
The author studied histopathologically on the damaging effects upon the pulp by dehydration of the exposed dentin of dog¢¥s teeth, using the air spray (20¡É and 50¡É) and cleansing medicaments, such as alcohol, chloroform and ethyl-ether.
The results were as follows;
1) The early inflammatory changes have been observed in most of the cases.
2) All of the cases showed the displacement of the odontoblastic nuclei into the dentin.
3) In the odontoblastic layer, capillaries were always observed in the odontoblastic layer but were not visible prior to inflammation.
4) The inflammatory changes on pulp tissues showed more obvious in cleansing medicaments than air spray with ordinary chip syringe.
5) In control group, the damage of pulp tissues observed more severe in zinc-phosphate cement than zinc-oxide eugenol or gutta-percha.
